Guilford County Schools will hold a Walk-In Day on Monday, November 4th to support our local teachers and public education. They're asking members of the community to visit any of the 126 schools in Guilford County to show their solidarity.
Several groups are asking teachers across our state to hold a statewide walkout, but instead GCS is holding a Walk-In so kids will not miss any school. They're asking everyone across Guilford County to wear red in support of public education.
According to GSC, "North Carolina teacher pay ranks 46th in the United States, down five spots from the year before. In addition, our schools have lost more than $42 million in state funding in the last five years."
