GREENSBORO, NC-- No need to bring lunch to work Thursday or cook dinner. You can get a hot barbecue plate and help charities in one bite.
Thursday, the Greensboro Police Club is hosting its Annual Fall Barbecue to raise funds for the Special Olympics, youth athletic scholarships and uniforms, and police memorials.
The Greensboro Police Club, a private civic club, has been sponsoring this fundraiser event every year since its establishment in 1927.
You can dine in or get carry-out at the Police Club at 524 Air Harbor Road. Officers will be serving there from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Officers are offering takeout meals only at War Memorial Stadium on Yanceyville Street. They'll serve those meals from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Meals cost $7 each and can be paid for by cash or check.
Dine-in meals consist of pork barbecue, coleslaw, baked beans, and a drink. And, takeout meals come with 12 ounces of barbecue and coleslaw.
All items are prepared and served by Greensboro Police Department employees and retirees.
