HIGH POINT - Live healthy! If not for you, then for your family. That's the message behind an event this weekend which encourages all moms to get active. The NC Fit Moms Rock 5K Walk, Run and Race is on Saturday, October 26, 2013.
Kit-Tena and Hilton Ferguson joined WFMY News 2's Tracey McCain on the Good Morning Show to talk about the event.
The Fergusons are parents of five children, including a set of triplets. "We're really busy," explained Kit-Tena. "But I don't let that stop me from staying healthy for my family," she said.
She described her weight-loss journey and also her determination to get back in shape after childbirth. She and her husband, who is a Personal Trainer at Full Time Fitness, LLC in High Point came up with the idea to involve the community in an event to get women, moms and the whole community active.
Ferguson showed some exercises that will help moms get in shape while also explaining about the event this Saturday, October 26, 2013.
"Come on out for a fun and active morning while supporting an active moms initiative," explains the NC Fit Moms 5K web page.
The event will take place on the High Point Greenway behind Full Time Fitness, LLC. The address is 4008 Mendenhall Oaks Parkway Suite 109 in High Point.
