A devoted husband lost his wife to breast cancer, but came up with a great way to honor her and others fighting her same fight.
Coley Hooker started the Bowling Fundraiser to benefit the Cone Health Cancer Center Patient Support Fund and it grows every year. Last year, they raised more than $6,000; and in the past five years combined they've raised $20,240.
We spoke to Hooker this morning and he told us how much this event means to him and the people who knew and loved his wife. He said his goal this year is to raise $10,000.
The Johnnie Mae Breast Cancer Bowling Fundraiser is this Saturday, October 26th at Triad Lanes on Wendover Avenue. It's from 1pm to 5pm and costs $25. The event benefits the Cone Health Cancer Center Patient Support Fund.
