Greensboro, NC -- Dylan Price was a Leukemia survivor, a bone marrow transplant recipient, and an inspiration to everyone he met.

Cancer is downright scary, but Dylan faced it head on and with a smile on his face.

Wednesday night, Dylan had a heart attack and died.  His father said it was a complication from his bone marrow transplant.

In August, Dylan had two heart attacks and survived.  His father said he was only the second known kid in the world to survive heart attacks after a transplant.

Dylan was a fighter and an amazing kid.

When we first met Dylan, he was at a Red Cross blood drive, just to offer moral support.

The next time, he was organizing a bone marrow donor drive for his Eagle Scout project.   He said he wanted to pay it forward.

And we were fortunate enough to be there, when Dylan met his bone marrow donor for the very first time.

Dylan's father told us he was still cancer free.  Dylan had been taking AP classes at Page High School and volunteering at a local soup kitchen after school.

Dylan was finally living a normal teenager's life.  But like any transplant patient, there are always risks.

Dylan's parents want their son's story to be an inspiration to others.  His dad said he lived a short, but great life.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been set.  However, his parents know his donor plans to fly in from Montana to be here for the service.

If you want to help, Dylan's family asks that you make a donation to Reelin' for Research, which helps the pediatric oncology unit at UNC Children's Hospital.
