GREENSBORO - Helping people in our community, that's what it's all about. And right now hunger is a real problem.
Nikita Shearin with a group called The Dream Experience Project is leading an effort to put food on the tables of people in need.
Shearin joined WFMY News 2's Tracey McCain Tuesday on the Good Morning Show to talk about the need in our community. "Guilford County ranks fourth for hunger in North Carolina's 100 counties," she said.
There's a community event this weekend where people can listen to local artists and make a difference.
The Food 4 Hunger Community Concert is Saturday, September 28th at the Salvation Army on South Eugene Street in Greensboro.
Admission is 3 or more can good items per person. All canned goods collected will be donated to the Salvation Army in Guilford County.
