News 2 has learned it took three local agencies, the FBI, US marshals and the ATF to pull off a complex operation that started at 2 a.m. Wednesday and led to the arrests of those six men.
Police charged the suspects with robery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery. Their names are Hassan Ali, John Griffin, Kelvin Jacobs, Hassan Hassan, Rodney Allen Frazier, Jr. and Ahmed Ali. The men are between 19 and 28 years old. Five are from Greensboro, and one man is from High Point. Police said they might be tied to other armed robberies all over the Triad.
On July 25, police said four men pulled out guns and robbed Brinks employees who were making a delivery at a bank on 1301 Eastchester Drive. The Brinks guards fired their guns, but the suspects got away with some money. Police said the suspects drove off in a stolen getaway van and smashed through a fence in the bank's rear parking lot.
The suspects currently are in jail, and each is being held on a $1 million bond.
The High Point police violent crime unit is requesting for any witnesses of the incident to contact the police department as soon as possible, if they have not yet come forward.
