Archdale, NC - It's all about fire safety, training and prevention for kids. The Guil-Rand Fire Department is hosting its fire safety camp July 22 through July 26th.
The camp teaches children, ages 7 to 10 how to spot when they're in danger and get out. WFMY News 2's Tracey McCain and fire educator Steve Barr walked viewers through the training courses. The PT and water bucket brigade drills teach children physical endurance, teamwork and safety skills as well.
The Guil-Rand Fire Department holds its camp once a year. The camp is now full, but the Greensboro Fire Department is still accepting applications for its camp next week.
The camp is open to the first 50 children, so register them now. It runs Monday, July 29th through Friday, August 2nd at the Police and Fire Training Center on North Church Street in Greensboro.
