Fairfax, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - Matthew Wright scored 24 points, leading
four players in double figures, as St. Bonaventure claimed an 85-73 win over
the George Mason Patriots in an Atlantic 10 Conference clash at the Patriot
Also scoring in double figures for the Bonnies (15-10, 5-6 A10), as they
posted their second straight win, were Jordan Gathers with 18 points and Dion
Wright 15 off the bench, followed by Youssou Ndoye with 12 points, six
rebounds and four blocked shots.
The Patriots (9-16, 2-9) were paced by Bryon Allen who dropped in a game-high
26 points, shooting 10-of-13 from the floor and 4-of-6 behind the 3-point
line. Sherrod Wright added 20 points for the hosts as they saw a two-game win
streak come to an end.
The Bonnies shot only 1-of-8 behind the 3-point line in the first half, but
they countered by converting all eight chances at the charity stripe in order
to take a slim 33-29 advantage at the break.
