GREENSBORO, N.C. -- In the winter storm aftermath Wednesday morning, road crews began working on the several still-unplowed streets in Greensboro and elsewhere in the central and northern Triad counties.
Greensboro was among the Triad cities with the most snow accumulation Tuesday, as most areas of town received at least an inch and a half of snow. As of 4:30 a.m., ahead of the start of plowing, Westover Terrace, Summit Avenue and parts of Battleground Avenue remained snowy and slick. Additionally, areas of downtown Greensboro did not appear well-plowed.

The Greensboro Police Department said it currently is not responding to any weather-related incidents. The Highway Patrol said it, too, is not experiencing any delays yet Wednesday morning, though it did respond to approximately 200 weather-related accidents across several Triad counties Tuesday night. The Highway Patrol confirmed two separate weather-related fatal accidents occurred in Surry County between 1:15 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Despite several water main breaks Monday and Tuesday, the City of Greensboro Water Resources said repairs have been made on the breaks that remained damaged as of Tuesday evening. Water Resources said it is not aware of any additional breaks that have happened since then.
People who are planning to fly out of or to Piedmont Triad International Airport (PTI) Wednesday morning are encouraged to check the status of their flights. According to the PTI flight tracker, Delta Airlines flights to Atlanta scheduled at 6 a.m. 7:15 a.m. and 10:08 a.m. already have been cancelled. A Delta flight scheduled to arrive at PTI from Atlanta at 9:32 also has been cancelled. United Airlines flights scheduled to depart to Chicago at 5:50 and Newark, N.J. at 6:02 have been delayed.
