GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Looking for some ideas for a fun way to ring in the new year?

WFMY News 2 has compiled a list of events at different Triad hotspots.

Best wishes to you and your family in ringing in 2014!

1. For the sports fans, Duke Men's Basketball will be taking on the Elon Phoenix at the Greensboro Coliseum.

Tip-off is at 1 p.m. Ticket prices start at $20.

2. Greensboro Symphony's New Year's Eve "Pops" Concert featuring the music of John Denver

The show starts at 8 p.m. at Westover Church.
Canned food items will also be taken up to be donated to the Greensboro Urban Ministry.

3. Winston-Salem Symphony's Plugged-In Pops New Year's Eve Concert

Music includes Broadway numbers with soloists Jessica Cates, Daniel Stein, Mia Gentle, and Tony Vincent.
The program starts at 8 p.m. at R.J. Reynolds Memorial Auditorium.

4. Millennium Center's New Year's Eve Ball

Held from 9:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. at 101 W. 5th Street in Winston-Salem.

Includes a DJ, large-screen viewing of Times Square, champagne toast, and midnight breakfast.

Tickets are $18 in advance and $22 at the door.

5. Rockin' New Year's Eve at the Barn Dinner Theater

Includes a buffet dinner, dancing, a performance of the Motown show "Love Machine," champagne toast, and breakfast bar.
