GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for parts of the WFMY News 2 viewing area until 4 a.m. Monday with a Freezing Rain Advisory in effect for the immediate Triad until 5 a.m. Monday.
A light drizzle or shower will be possible through Sunday night. Meanwhile temperatures across the entire area will be right around the freezing mark. As a result a light glaze on elevated surfaces will be possible.
Accumulations greater than 0.10" are not expected, but a light glaze will be possible.
Temperatures Monday morning will return to above freezing territory and eventually peak in the upper 40s through the afternoon. Scattered showers will also be possible, but at least the winter weather threat will have cleared.
Monday night temperatures will also remain above freezing with lows in the upper 30s to lower 40s.
