GREENSBORO, N.C. -- An Asheboro woman pleaded guilty Monday to a felony fraud charge after court documents show up to 400,000 dollars were embezzled from an Asheboro nonprofit.
According the Department of Justice, Tiffanie Annette Wilson pleaded guilty in a federal court in Greensboro to felony charges of both conspiracy to embezzle money and embezzling money from an organization receiving federal funds.
Wilson was the Director of the Weatherization Assistance Program for Regional Consolidated Services. The nonprofit helped low-income North Carolinians save energy and reduce utility costs through making homes more energy efficient.
Wilson faces a maximum penalty of ten years confinement in federal prison for the fraud convictions.
