CARY, N.C. -- Seven people were displaced after a fire late Wednesday caused heavy damage to a triplex in Cary.
According to CBS affiliate WRAL, the fire happened at about 10:30 p.m. and 27 firefighters were called to extinguish the blaze, which burned through most of the roof.
WRAL reports: the building's owner says the blaze started in the fireplace inside one of the three apartments and all the occupants escaped. No injuries were reported. A dog and two cats were saved from the units, but two other cats were missing.
Investigators say all three units were damaged in the blaze. They're still investigating the cause.
