GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Low pressure will track across the area Wednesday morning, and a cold front will move through around noon.
Colder and drier air will filter into the Piedmont Wednesday afternoon through Thanksgiving. High pressure will bring a quiet weather pattern through the weekend.
Scattered showers will become mixed with and briefly change over to snow showers by early afternoon before ending. No snow accumulation is expected east of the N.C. mountains. Temperatures will stay in the upper-30s Wednesday afternoon.
Once the cold front moves through, winds will increase out of the northwest at 15 to 25 mph and may gusts to 30 mph Wednesday afternoon. Winds will gradually decrease overnight.
The low Wednesday night will be 23.
Thanksgiving and Friday will be mostly sunny. The high Thursday will be 40, with a high of 46 on Friday. Overnight lows Thursday night will be in the mid 20s.
The weekend will also be dry. Under a partly cloudy sky, the high Saturday will be 44, and the high Sunday will be 47.
