GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Police in Greensboro announced the arrest of men in connection with death of a man found in a parking lot in July.
According to a news release, officers arrested and charged Bertie Delvone Latez McQueen, 32, and Damon Jerel Bell, 28. Both are charged with involvement in the death of 21-year-old Derrick Michael Rogers, who was found dead in a parking lot on Craven Street.
Officers were dispatched to the area around 9:34 p.m. on July 2 after a caller told 9-1-1 operators that a man was laying in the street. Rogers was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency crews.
McQueen was indicted for first degree murder and Robbery with a dangerous weapon. He is currently serving a sentence at Neuse Correctional Institution on an unrelated drug convictions.
Bell was arrested Nov. 19th and is charged with accessory after the fact. He is currently in the Guilford County Jail on a $275,000 secured bond.
Police said the suspects and the victim all knew each other.
