Fayetteville, N.C. -- Imagine moving into your new apartment and finding something left behind by a previous tenant. You're probably thinking it was curtains or an appliance and you would be wrong.
How about a snake? Yes, that happened to a woman in Fayetteville. According to WRAL-TV, the woman was moving in Saturday, November 23 and found a 3-foot python inside the apartment.
After she stopped screaming, the woman who isn't being identified, called the Cumberland County Animal Control. She had someone secure the snake in a box, as instructed, until an officer was able to pick it up.
The snake was then taken to the animal shelter.
A neighbor, who did not want to give her name, told WRAL-TV that the previous renters had moved out two weeks earlier.
A shelter worker said the snake might have been left behind intentionally or simply escaped.
