Greensboro City Council Election Results Are In

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The results from Election Day in Greensboro are in.

Nancy Vaughan won the race for Greensboro mayor, defeating incumbent Robbie Perkins. She had nearly 60 percent of the vote.

The fight for Greensboro City Council District 1 between Sharon Hightower and Dianne Bellamy-Small was close all night. However, Hightower won by 15 votes. Each candidate had close to 50 percent of the vote since polls closed at 7:30 p.m.

Jamal Fox defeated incumbent Jim Kee with 52 percent of the vote for Greensboro City Council District 2.

Zack Matheny took Greensboro City Council District 3, beating challenger Wendell Roth.

Nancy Hoffmann beat out ex-mayor Bill Knight, locking down 57 percent of the vote for Greensboro City Council District 4.

Tony Wilkins defeated Sal Leone in the race for Greensboro City Council District 5.

For Greensboro City Council At-Large, Yvonne Johnson, Mike Barber and Marikay Abuzuaiter came out on top.
