CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Bryn Renner's season and career at North Carolina has come to an end.
The senior quarterback injured his shoulder in Saturday's win over N.C. State.
School officials say he will undergo surgery Wednesday.
Renner has thrown for 1,765 yards and 10 touchdowns this season.
For his career in Chapel Hill, he has 8,221 passing yards which puts him second on the school's all time list.
Sophomore Marquise Williams will step under center and become the Tar Heels' starter for the remainder of the season.
