CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The N.C. Highway Patrol is searching for a man who fled from a Charlotte hospital after he was taken there following a car chase on Interstate 85.
According to the patrol, troopers clocked the driver going 92 mph early Saturday morning. About six minutes into the chase, troopers used a maneuver to get the driver to stop. The man's car then went about 100 feet and struck a light pole.
The driver climbed out of the car and tried to flee, but troopers stunned him with a Taser. He was taken to Carolinas Medical Center to be treated for his injuries, but he fled the hospital and is still at large.
Troopers are in the process of obtaining arrest warrants for a variety of charges against the driver.
