HIGH POINT, N.C. -- A fire destroyed a home Friday morning in High Point.

A spokesperson for the High Point Fire Department said the fire caused the roof to collapse at a single-story home in the 3000 block of Meridian Avenue.

Three people were home at the time of the fire; they made it out safe. There were six dogs in the home; and they've all been found and will be okay.

Damage to the house is estimated at $50,000 - $70,000, fire officials said. The family is being assisted by Red Cross of High Point.

HPFD said the cause of the fire is unknown, but investigators are still on the scene.
