Eden Prairie, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - Despite a lackluster performance in his debut with the club, Josh Freeman will remain the starting quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings in Week 8 against the Green Bay Packers.

Head coach Leslie Frazier gave Freeman his vote of confidence Tuesday during his interview session with the media.

"It was more technical stuff," said Frazier when referring to why Freeman struggled. "The mental part, he was sharp. He did a great job of running our offense. There are some things from a technical standpoint that we will have to work on to get him better."

Freeman finished his debut with the Vikings going just 20-of-53 for 190 yards with a one interception and a 40.6 QB rating.

Freeman started the season with Tampa Bay, but struggled in the club's first three games and was released in early October.

He completed just 45.7 percent of his passes with the Bucs for 571 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions before being benched in favor of rookie Mike Glennon.
