HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Police in High Point have identified the man who was killed in a hit-and-run accident early Sunday morning.
Aaron Samuel Hoffman, 23, was fatally struck while walking on Nathan Hunt Drive after 2:30 a.m.
Police say the driver, Valondrea Breeden, got into a fight with her ex-boyfriend and then began to chase him in her car.
Both drivers were moving fast on Nathan Hunt Drive when Breeden's vehicle crossed the center line and hit Hoffman, according to the police department.
Investigators say another person was walking near Hoffman at the time of the accident, but no other injuries were reported.
Breeden was taken into custody and charged with 2nd Degree Murder, Felony Hit and Run, Felony Death by Motor Vehicle, and Driving While Impaired. She is in the Guilford County Jail under a $750,000 bond.
The investigation is still ongoing.
