Greensboro, NC --  It takes an average of 100 volunteers, 20 weeks to build a house from foundation to dedication. If you're interested, but unsure of your talents with a hammer, read on!

Amanda Albert, Construction Supervisor says, "We create a build schedule for each house that breaks each volunteer day into tasks that we know we can accomplish like installing windows, or shingling a roof, or painting the house."

You don't have to show up with skills, just an attitude of wanting to work hard and being willing to learn.

"That is our hope,  that we not only accomplish the work that we need done on the house, but that we are able to teach the volunteers a new skill that they may be able to use later. If a volunteer can walk away at the end of the day knowing they accomplished a task and gained a new skill, then hopefully they feel empowered and want to continue volunteering in their community."

Habitat for Humanity's Raising Roofs Event is November 4th-8th. During those five days,  20 Greensboro Builders Association members have stepped up to the challenge to build 7 houses. .

Habitat doesn't need construction help for the Raising Roofs Event, but they do need lunch help! Read on:
