Kansas City, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - Reigning MVP LeBron James dropped 20
points in less than 25 minutes as the Miami Heat downed the Charlotte Bobcats
in preseason action, 86-75, at Sprint Center.
Norris Cole and Michael Beasley deposited 15 and 13 points, respectively, off
the bench for Miami, which remained undefeated in three preseason contests.
Mario Chalmers had 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the floor and Udonis
Haslem grabbed 11 rebounds.
Charlotte's Al Jefferson scored a team-high 11 points to go with seven
rebounds before leaving the game in the third quarter with an apparent
sprained right ankle. The former Jazz big man inked a three-year, $40.5
million contract with the Bobcats this summer.
Jeff Taylor, who emerged as Sweden's best player at EuroBasket this summer,
added 10 points off the bench for the Bobcats.
Miami outscored the Bobcats 24-14 in the second quarter to pull ahead, holding
Charlotte to 6-for-17 from the field in the period.
