GUILFORD COUNTY - We all have junk.  Old tires, mattresses, outdated appliances and electronics are taking over our homes.

Let this event help you clear the clutter and clean your environment.

The Guilford County Environmental Services Department is holding its Summer-Cycle 2013 event on Saturday, October 12, 2013.

Guilford County residents can dispose of their electronic waste, tires, appliances, mattresses, box springs and personal documents for free from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Tuesday on the Good Morning Show, Susan Heim, the county's Environmental Services Coordinator went over the list of items residents can drop off on Saturday.  Those items include stoves, refrigerators, washers, televisions, electronic games, cell phones, personal documents and computers.

"This year, a new service has been added to the event.  We'll accept mattresses and box springs, but other types of furniture cannot be accepted," said Heim.

Take any of those items to the free Summer-Cycle 2013 event on Saturday, October 12th from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.  It's at the Laughlin Professional Development Center at 7911 Summerfield Road in Summerfield.
