GREENSBORO, N.C. - After his heroics on Saturday night against top-ranked North Carolina, Wake Forest sophomore Jalen Robinson has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week for the first time in his career.
Robinson, a Catonsville, Md. native, headed home his first goal of the season with just 57 seconds remaining in regulation to help the Demon Deacons earn a 1-1 tie. The goal came off of a corner kick from fellow sophomore Michael Gamble.
After the goal, Robinson and the rest of the Deacs celebrated on the newly dedicated Walt Chyzowych Alumni Hill at Spry Stadium. A regular-season record crowd of 4,587 saw the ball hit the back of the net.
With the tie, Wake Forest stays atop the ACC standings in a tie with Maryland with a 3-0-1 record and 10 points.
Robinson is the first Demon Deacon this season to be named ACC Player of the Week.
Wake Forest will be in action again tonight at Charlotte at 7 p.m. at Transamerica Field.
