GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Greensboro police have identified the woman killed in a crash on Interstate 40 Saturday morning.
Police dispatchers say Amanda Birchfield, 35, of Crown City, OH, died in the accident.
Investigators say she was driving a 2000 Jeep Wrangler westbound on I-40, near Martin Luther King Jr. Dr., around 3:00 a.m. That's when her vehicle went off the road, hit a guardrail and flipped over.
Birchfield was ejected from the Jeep and died at the scene. No other vehicles or people were involved in the crash.
The police department's Crash Reconstruction Team is still investigating the accident.
