Deputies with the Alamance County Sheriff's Office said a shooting case that began as a suicide investigation is now a murder investigation.
That's because, early Wednesday deputies responded to a reported shooting at a house on Sartin Road. When they arrived at the home, officers found 33 year-old Anthony Eric Williams with a gunshot wound to his head. He was taken to Moses Cone Hospital where he died shortly after.
During the preliminary investigation, officers believed the shooting to be a suicide. However, after gathering more evidence, they later determined that Jasmine Camille Kirkland, who was at the home during the shooting was the one who fired the gun at Williams.
Friday, deputies served a warrant charging Jasmine Camille Kirkland with First Degree Murder. She was placed in Alamance County Jail with no bond.
