WENTWORTH, N.C. -- A Monroe man is spending 48 hours in jail after a judge placed him in Contempt of Court.
Jihad Abou Haidar was in court Wednesday for allegedly making threatening phone calls to Remington Arms in Mayodan on August 23, according to the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office.
Haidar was escorted out of the courtroom by bailiffs.
The sheriff's office said when he was taken to the jail, Haidar made comments to staff that he planned to kill the judge. Haidar was additionally charged with Threatening an Executive Court Officer.
Haidar's bond was set at $1,000,000. He is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 23.
