Kernersville, NC -- Armed with shovels, history is made! The Carolina Field of Honor is now a reality in Kernersville after six years of planning, fundraising, convincing and hard work. More than $5 million were raised for the project.
About 50 plus Patriot Guard riders roared into the park Friday evening. The riders say they just had to be here to be a part of this history in the making.
The memorial is for every veteran from every war. It will be the largest memorial to veterans on the East Coast outside of Washington, D-C. It will also serve as a timeline to all conflicts.
The park is located between Greensboro and Winston-Salem on East Mountain Street in Kernersville. The property is owned by Guilford and Forsyth counties, both of which support this project.
