ELON, N.C. -- Police arrested an Elon firefighter and charged him with taking indecent liberties with a minor.
According to the police report, Nicolas James Campbell, 30, is accused of "making sexual advances, kissing and forcing [a 15-year-old girl] to touch [his] penis."
Drugs and alcohol were not involved, according to the report.
The report says the incident happened at the fire station at 219 S. Williamson Ave. in Elon on July 9 and was reported to police July 27.
Elon Police Chief Cliff Parker told WFMY News 2 Campbell was arrested September 5 and was released on bond. He said the accusations against Campbell are an isolated incident.
A town spokesperson said Campbell had no disciplinary actions prior to these allegations since he was hired in 2007. He was placed on unpaid non-disciplinary suspension September 5, after the charges were formally made. He resigned Tuesday.
The incident is still under investigation.
