HIGH POINT, N.C. -- A new poll from High Point University shows President Barack Obama and North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory have a 39 percent approval rating among North Carolinians.
Both politicians' approval ratings fell since a prior HPU poll in the spring, according to the university. In that poll, Obama had a 43 percent approval rating and McCrory had 49.
Among the adults questioned in the most recent survey, 20 percent of the participants believe the country is headed in the right direction.
HPU's poll gave U.S. Senator Kay Hagan a 40 percent approval rating and U.S. Senator Richard Burr a 36 percent approval rating.
