DANVILLE, Va. -- A motorcyclist died after a fiery wreck in Danville.
The accident happened Monday evening at the intersection of Arnett Boulevard and Wendell Scott Drive.
Police said Therman Stacey, 46, was driving his motorcycle north on Arnett Boulevard when he was hit by a driver making a left turn from the opposite direction.
Both vehicles caught on fire.
Stacey was thrown from the motorcycle and died. The driver of the vehicle was able to safely exit and was taken to Danville Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
Police closed northbound and southbound lanes for about three hours until the wreck was cleared.
No charges have been filed against the driver of the vehicle. Police did not provide any details about the speed the vehicles were travelling.
