(WMAZ) - With a smile like Deven Jackson's, you would never know what he has been going through since February.
"It just makes me happy, I mean I just like to smile," said Jackson.
"We found out that Deven had a tumor growing on his brain and that
his skull was deteriorating, from a disease called histiocytosis," said
Valeria Jackson, his mom.
After Jackson had surgery to remove the tumor, his family thought everything would get better.
"About July we got a call, stating that the tumor was growing. And we had to start chemo. That
was the one thing we were praying for not to happen," said his mom.
Because of his treatment, at times he has to be isolated.
So his parents
sectioned off part of their room, creating a whole new space. And
Rooms from the Heart, a non-profit that redesigns rooms for sick kids,
is making it over.
During the reveal, Jackson got a dresser filled with books and games.
