Michael Pellegrino.

LIBERTY, N.C. -- Deputies in Randolph County are still looking for a suspect in a deadly hit-and-run accident from almost three years ago.

Deputies said North Carolina State Highway Patrol found parts of a mid-90s Ford truck that they believe hit and killed Michael Robert Pellegrino on US 421 at the end of September in 2010.

Pellegrino's body was found between Old Liberty Road and Troy Estates Road.

Trooper Matthew Mitchell told WFMY News 2 in 2010 that Pellegrino was struck from behind and there were no skidmarks - indicating the driver did not attempt to brake before or after the crash.

The Randolph County Sheriff's Office asks anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (336) 672-7463.
