Greensboro, NC - They're the back-to-school must haves: notebooks, pencils, markers and of course a backpack. But if your kids aren't careful, their backpacks could actually hurt them.
We want to help you head off any problems, so the Good Morning Show asked Dr. Joseph Fonke from High Point Chiropractic to share backpack do's and don't's so your kids don't hurt themselves.
Dr. Fonke said kids need to wear both backpack straps on their shoulders, wear their backpacks at or above their waistline and keep them light. Putting too many books in their bags or not wearing them properly, Dr. Fonke warns can lead to not only bad posture and back pain, but also asthma, bed wetting and a series of other problems.
