Mandy and Tinker are tweenie dachshunds who have been together their entire life, which we estimate to be between six and seven years. They came into rescue after their loving owners passed away. You can tell these lovely ladies grew up in a caring home - they are so well-mannered and sweet, and always ready to love on you.
The old saying goes that opposites attract, and these two are no exception! Tinker is an energetic and outgoing white and red longhaired piebald. She is playful and will do just about anything for attention. She and Mandy both weigh about 15 pounds, although Tinker is slightly larger.
Mandy is a laid-back and relaxed longhaired black and tan doxie with an unusually curly coat. She can be a bit shy at first, although she will vie for your attention once she gets to know you. Mandy is content to curl up on your lap or next to you on the sofa and just snooze.
Mandy and Tinker are very adorable and very sweet. Don't let their size fool you though; they would make wonderful walking pals for someone who enjoys a long stroll or a brisk walk. Of course they love bed time and all its privileges, which means they absolutely expect to sleep in the big bed. No worries though, you will hardly notice they are in bed with you. They sleep well and eat well and once they learn your routine, they will be completely accommodating to your schedule.
The girls mastered potty training a long time ago, and the challenges of puppyhood are no longer an issue. Mandy and Tinker say that they will absolutely need a home with a fenced-in yard for marathon sniffing and sunbathing sessions. And - of course - they will only be placed in a home together, since they are BFFs for life.
