Thomasville, NC - Police say a man in Thomasville used a 20-pound propane tank to set fire to the car of a man he was disputing with.

Both the Thomasville Fire and Police Departments were called to a fire in the 4000 block of Ball Park Road around 1:15 am, Tuesday. However, the man who owned the blazing van extinguished the fire before first responders arrived, according to police.

Investigators determined that the car was intentionally set on fire and identified Micky Ray Tolbert, 60, as the suspect.

Tolbert was charged with Breaking or Entering into a Motor Vehicle, Burning of Personal Property and Malicious Damage by use of an Explosive or Incendiary. He was taken to the Davidson County Jail and was issued a $25,000 secured bond.

Tolbert is scheduled to appear in court July 31.
