Asheboro, NC -- Police say they were able to arrest a suspect wanted in several vehicle break-ins Friday, thanks to video from a resident in an Asheboro neighborhood.

Officer G.A. Rippey responded to a break-in call on Emerson Road around 4:30 p.m. The officer went to the scene to investigate a vehicle break-in and found out there had been another just a few blocks away.

A neighbor showed Rippey video of the suspect breaking into one of the cars, and he was able to identify the suspect as Ryan Michael Barker.

Barker has been convicted in several motor vehicle break-in cases. In fact, police say many Asheboro officers are familiar with him.

Police later arrested Barker and placed him in the Randolph County jail under a $25,000 secured bond and electronic house arrest.

He's charged with five counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle, three counts of larceny after breaking and entering, and three counts of possession of stolen goods.
