Durham, NC -- All 10-year-old Samantha Riggs wanted was a new heart. Now, she has one.
On December 7th, Samantha's heart suddenly became so enlarged and started beating so fast, she almost died. Doctors hooked her up to a "Berlin Heart," which is essentially a mechanical heart, to keep her alive.

On Tuesday, after 131 days of waiting, Samantha got a new heart. She is now recovering from the surgery at Duke Children's Hospital.
