GREENSBORO - The new Deep Roots Market grocery store in Greensboro opens Wednesday.
The co-op store is owned by the people who shop there. Some say it could be another reason to but and rent downtown.
"One thing that's said about downtown is that they grow when people are living in them," store spokesperson Maryl Mullane said. "For people who live downtown, they need a place to get groceries. So this has been long awaited for downtown Greensboro."
It's the first downtown grocery store in Greensboro.
The market sells natural and healthy prepared foods.
