WFMY -- If you're trying to lose weight, a lot of healthcare professionals recommend a diet low in carbohydrates.
However, the challenge is often finding low carb recipes that still taste good. So Katelyn Hedrick, a registered dietitian, joined the Good Morning Show crew on Monday to show us a few good options.
Hedrick said you should not cut carbs from your diet, but you should make sure you are getting healthy carbohydrates.
"Carbohydrates give you energy, so you need to make sure you get enough of them to keep you going," said Hedrick.
Hedrick shared her recipe for a healthy twist on mashed potatoes: Mashed cauliflower. Hedrick added that roasted zucchini is another healthy carbohydrate. You can find her recipe for Roasted Zucchini & Pesto here.
Hedrick said she adds buttermilk, parmesan cheese and seasonings to give the cauliflower a lot of flavor.
