Eugene Craig organized free haircuts for students at Allen Middle School, and it's making a big impact on students.

Greensboro, NC -- Teacher's are heroes for their everyday interactions with children, but one local teacher is going above and beyond to help his students.

Eugene Craig is the student intervention assistant at Allen Middle School, and he wrote to News 2 and said he's noticed a lot of the children act out in class due to low self-esteem.

So, he decided to do something about this and organized a group of local barbers to come to the school and give students a haircut.

Craig said for students at his school, a professional haircut is not always in the budget, and with a professional haircut, these barbers are making a huge impact on the students. Craig said, "I mean, a well groomed man means success and we want to start it here at Allen. We want to let these young men know that being groomed is part of being a man, its a part of being successful, and being successful starts here at school."

And this is not the first time Craig has gone above and beyond the call of duty for his students. In November, he collected money for students to have Thanksgiving dinner, and last December, he did the same thing for Christmas.

This year, he is doing the same thing and raising money to allow students at Allen Middle School to have a happier holiday.
