Greensboro, NC -- They're usually heroes to others, but now you can be a hero to a Greensboro food bank in need.
The Blessed Table Food Pantry needs money and donations to keep its services up and running. Each week, the pantry gives out food to more than 125 families. And, that number could soon increase.
"June, school will be out, and kids will be home. They'll be more people asking for assistance, and we don't turn anybody away," said Ed Lemons, Blessed Table Food Pantry Director. Lemons says the economy has many people and corporations cutting back on giving. This is the first time in six years that the food pantry has had to ask for help from the community, but Lemons says if they don't get the help they need, they may have to close.
They're mailing forms to churches and other places in the community. If you want to donate money, you can send a check to:

All donations are tax deductible. You can also donate food at the same location.
