Angel Hands asked for your help, you donated to give back, now your donations are helping others.

Greensboro, NC -- You may remember we told you about Angel Hands Home Care earlier this year. The company refurbishes wheelchairs and canes and gives them to people in need.

In April, they didn't have enough wheelchairs to meet the demand --  so we passed word of the need along to our viewers. And boy, did you respond! People started donating wheelchairs almost immediately.

Now, Angel Hands and News 2 have come full circle. Bobby Garner suffered a stroke in 1992 that paralyzed his whole left side. He's been without a wheelchair since December and can only walk about 20 feet at a time using his cane. He learned about Angel Hands by watching WFMY News 2, and on May 9th, they brought him a new motorized wheelchair of his own.

Garner said, "I tried since December to get something with my insurance companies and medicare and all the things you got to do and got no result, but this worked out perfect. It sure did. I would like to thank the person I got it from, I mean that donated it. They've done me a big favor, they sure did."

And the wheelchair almost became a birthday gift as Garner celebrated his 72nd birthday Sunday.
