We spoke, via Skype, with two Red Cross volunteers helping storm victims in different areas of the state.

Greensboro, NC -- Red Cross volunteers from all over North Carolina and the nation are mobilizing to help our state's tornado victims.

In their efforts to help the victims, they're hearing amazing stories. Barbara Behling was working on relief efforts in the Fayetteville area. A man who is stationed overseas in Kuwait reached out, through the Puerto Rican Red Cross, to find out if his family survived the storm. Not only did they survive, but as Red Cross volunteers checked on the family, their power came back on and they were able to talk via Skype.

Dave Schrader has been working with the relief effort in Raleigh. He said he's seen widespread, extensive damage everywhere he's gone. Schrader said he's been in a lot of disaster areas and it's like nothing he's ever seen before. Schrader also said the Red Cross will be sending care team throughout the affected areas. The groups will check on victims and be handing out client assistance cards, cards with money on them, so they can get the supplies they need.
