After a septic back-up and no money to pay for it to be fixed, Servpro in Burlington offered to take care of it... free.

Burlington --  The flu has been going around the Triad.  If you've had it, you know it makes you feel like you've been hit by a truck.  Jane Holmes, who lives with her 96 year old mother, had it a few weeks ago.  In the middle of her bout with the flu, the septic tank system backed up and flooded the basement.  That is a problem any day... especially when you have the flu.

On top of that, they had let their homeowners insurance lapse.  Since they also have both have other health problems, other expenses had to come first.  They had a big, messy problem... and no way to pay for it.

They called a few companies before Servpro decided to come out for a look.  Joe Skowronek, the Production Manager, came out and surveyed the scene.  When he left, he just couldn't get them off his mind.

He decided to ask some of his employees if they would mind pitching in.  He told them it would be messy work, after hours, and there would be no pay.  Much to his surprise, they agreed!  One Monday night, after their normal day, they took on the stinky mess.  They unclogged the toilet, ripped out the carpet, took out part of the sheetrock... and sanitized everything!

Now THEY are heroes!
