GREENSBORO, N.C. -- A group of local kids got in the giving spirit, by giving their pennies!

Students at Sumner Elementary set out to raise $350 for breast cancer awareness. But they blew by that that, quadrupling their original goal, raising more than $1,600!

Wednesday, they had a party to celebrate. Students were allowed to wear hats, and wore pink to support their cause. The most fun part of the celebration? Their surprise dance party! 'Gangnam Style' blasted over the school's public announcement system and students got the chance to dance in their classes.

Fifth grade teacher Ann McSwain said the fundraiser was a good learning experience. "Service learning is a really big part of what we believe in here. Its a big part of developing a students character. Its important for kids to know that they can make an impact in their community and in the world."

All the money they raised will go to the Avon Foundation for Women.
