Burlington, NC -- Police have a man in custody charged with an attempted robbery at a local McDonald's Friday, according to a news release.
Officers arrested 41-year-old Christopher Gillis Wright, of Burlington, just after 12 a.m. Sunday. He's charged with one count of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Police say Wright placed an order at the McDonald's on N. Church St. Friday night. When his debit card didn't work, he told employees he had a gun and demanded they give him food and money.
He left the scene after he found out police were on the way.
Police investigating the incident and arrested Wright after determining he was a suspect. Now that he's in custody, police are holding Wright in the Alamance County jail under a $20,000 secured bond.
